Any suggestions for grooming a "Sprocker" (Springer-Cocker mix)? Do I do a regular cocker cut: shaved back with a skirt? Shave down? Natural back? Robbie's coat is more cocker-like--thick and curly but according to our Springer Spaniel friends, he looks like a Field Springer--more barrel chested. Either way he's a sweetheart of a dog.

File comment: This is Robbie. He was shaved down in these shots.

What a beautiful boy! I had a sprocker that we just absolutly loved! His name was Patrick. His gotcha day would have been 3/15, we lost him on 3/29/08. We had him for 8 wonderful years. Our Pak looked more like a springer. He had the cutest song. He would sit at the end of our bed and lift his head and just bay with happiness. He was our gentle alpha and we miss him every day. We lost him to renal failure.

Here's our Patrick

Naomi he is a handsome guy. I think whatever you do will be god. Summer is coming soon so a short cut will do. Hope he likes it.

They are both adorable (love those freckles!). They both look more field English to me tho from these pix - I'd groom as one of those, or more cocker-ish. I guess it would be mostly a case of what the owner would prefer. Any way would make me want to kiss those noses, tho!! :love

I think I will probably do a cocker cut--Thanks for posting pictures of your baby, Polly! Robbie's hair is more like a cocker's so I think that would work better and if not, I'll just give him the "military buzz". :raz

I'd just do the cocker cut, I must admit there's virtually no difference between my pet cocker cut and my pet springer cut! I do have some sprockers I groom, but people round here almost always have them clipped off all over, so I don't get much chance for a proper style.
