Not sure if this should be in products for cockers or somewhere else :dk

I'd like to know if any of you have registered their dogs with blanketid.com in case their dog gets lost? I *think* it might be a canadian company but it says in their site that their broadcast service operates throughout North America so I'm not sure.

It seems like a good affordable service to me but I'd like to know what other people think of it. I also like their tags, they're very pretty. The price of the tag covers the 1st year of registration and you can add more years (2, 3, 4, 6, or 11). 15% of the funds goes to help animals in needs.

Charlie wears all kinds of tags; he is microchipped but a friend showed me blanketid.com and I'd like your opinion.

I hadn't heard of blanketid.com before now. They really do have some cute tags, though.
Milo hasn't been microchipped yet but when I get it done, I plan to enroll in the AKC service, Companion Animal Recovery (CAR). They maintain your information in their database, which you can update any time. The dog wears a tag with the CAR phone number and unique ID number (microchip number). If you register online, it's only $17.50 or you can do a paper registration for $19.95. I figure it's a small investment to help insure his safety.

This is for lifetime protection; no annual renewals are required. They have very nice stainless steel tags with the AKC logo available for $12.

I have it and love it so far, Carol B had it for Dexter so I gave it a try. The site is very user friendly and to me , its just another step of protection.

Thanks for the feedback doreen. I was seriously thinking about signing up, I think I will. I looked at the site and it looks very easy to use, which is always nice.

I signed up Charlie on BlanketID today. There's only one store in my area that sells the tags and they didn't have many left. Lots of choices for female dogs but not too many for males so I chose the most neutral one. I thought Charlie needed a matching collar so we got him a new one at Pet Valu. It's made by Up Country and I think it goes well with his tag.

What I like the most about Blanket ID is that I can logon and update my contact info in seconds. This is awesome for times when I visit my parents, they live in a different province. If he gets lost while visiting my family, I don't have to worry about how people are going to reach me, all my info will be available online :th-up .

Yep, I have had mine a year. Also giving 3 sets away for a big holiday contest I am having in a few weeks on http://wwww.fidoseofreality.com

Dex is microchipped but I also like this tag with all the info it produces and the alert it produces. And they have gorgeous designs and many more on the way soon.

Carol, is there a way to know when the new designs will be out? Or to have a look at them?

Charlie is also microchipped but I feel safer knowing there are instructions on his tag on how to reach me. I'm just worried people wouldn't think of having him scanned for a microchip...
