I just can't believe Miss Maxine is gone. I have followed Miss Maxine since day one with Vicki and Bob.......and have thoroughly enjoyed her antics and adventures. Just last week, I saw pictures of Miss Maxine cruising through the parade of rescues. Though this all seems so sudden, I guess I should not be surprised because Miss Maxine did things her own way.

Vickie and Bob.....the day that Maxine came to your home, she knew and felt that she was loved....it showed in her face and in her actions. Miss Maxine is a one-of-a-kind, but so are the both of you. To take in a senior with health issues and give her such an amazing and fulfilling life in just these two years, is truly inspirational. Miss Maxine had the best life ever and it was because of the both of you.

Thank you for sharing Miss Maxine with the rest of us. I feel a sadness and lost as well. Then I am reminded of the Bridge, running free, eyes wide open, ears flying in the the breeze, and Miss Maxine looking for the next adventure....or sucker to fall for one of her tricks......and a cheesy grin on her face.

Miss Maxine left her pawprints on my heart.

I love you, Miss Maxine.

:hp :love :hp

Vickie,
I just read this yesterday night before bedtime. I am so sorry to hear this. As my husband has said before, Maxine is definitely one of his all time favorite being and mine too.

I feel that Maxine knew that she needed to be there at the National to send her messages to the whole world before she moved on. She knew. It is moments like this that confirm that there is a God. Everything is planned and God will be taking care of little Maxine.

Thank you for your big heart to care for Maxine's last years. And thank you for sharing her adventures with us. She really shows us all how to live.

Stella, Jon, Heidi, Louie and Cherry

I don't post much but I read daily. I have been out of town and away from the board so I am just seeing this. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. You are a special family, you and Maxine gave each other so much. I am so sorry.

Today would have been your second Gotcha Day. I miss you so very much and today the feelings are so bad. I keep thinking of two years ago when I first got to see you in person and get you out of that horrible shelter setting. I knew we wouldn't have you long but I so hoped we'd have you for longer than I did - of course I always wish for more time.

I hope you're having a great day at the bridge with your friends but I also hope you stop by for one brief moment to say hello. I miss you so much it hurts.

Vickie, all of these anniversaries and "firsts" are so hard! I cried reading your post, and I'm hoping your memories of happier days can carry you through.

I'm sending you {{{HUGS}}}.

This weekend is Sadie's 2nd Gotcha Day anniversary, too. I knew we got our pups about the same time, just didn't know it was the same weekend.

We all miss Miss Maxine, but none as greatly as you do.

Sending lots of :hp
