Chris, Heidi approves of Feather being Scrutly's new girlfriend.

I cannot imagine the amount of pain that Terri is going through. I have known Scrutly since the first day I met Heidi and Terri. As it is, I have been crying non-stop since Thursday.

Here are some pictures of Heidi and Scrutly together:

Terri,
Sending lots of gentle hugs to you. I know how much Scrutly meant to you, and how much you loved him, and he loved you.

Terry, I'm so sad to hear of this. Scrutley was just gorgeous. I'm sure he's met my Isabel and Joey - he'll teach Scrutley to send you a postcard.

I'm so sorry to hear about Scrutley - he was a gorgeous dog, and what an amazing age to reach! I'm sure he will leave a huge hole in your lives, but you must have been the best cocker mum ever to look after him so well. *hugs*

:cry I so understand the deep deep pain that consumes every inch of your being when you have to let go of not just a furbaby, but THE one. You are not alone in your sorrow. My heart breaks and my eyes are crying with you. Please take all all the time you need to grieve while still loving your other furbabies. Hold them close. They need you to help them through this horrendous loss, too. My deepest condolences.

:paw :hp :paw

Terri, I'm so very sorry about your boy, Scrutly. Sending prayers for God's comfort for you. Scrutly was an amazing boy, living to 18 years of age. You took wonderful care of your boy. My Bonnie girl (age 16 1/2) has been at the Bridge for four years and I miss her every day. I know we will see them again! :paw :hp :paw

Knowing that you did the hardest thing you could, you did the best for Scrutley.

He had the best life. Now, he is watching over you and waiting for you to join him over the Rainbow Bridge.

Hugs from all of us!!!! :hp

Thank you EVERYone for your support during the past couple of weeks -- they very well may have been the most difficult ever. :cry I'm in the process of creating Scrutly's memorial page: http://scrutly.pets-memories.com/index.php Please stop by there and light a candle for him, if you'd like -- and come back often, since I still have tons of photos and stories to add. I appreciate all of you....it really helps to know that there are other people who understand the pain of losing a cherished cocker. He will be forever in my heart. :hp

Oh, man! For some odd reason, I thought that I could actually stop by the vet clinic and pick up Scrutly's ashes, then turn around and walk out the door without shedding a tear -- NO WAY! Followed that up with stopping to get the mail, and there was a sympathy card from the clinic with my little Scrutly's paw prints embossed inside. :sad

I used to race home from work so that I could be with my boys at the end of the day. Although I love my Cooper, Sammy and Frisco dearly, I don't race home any more. In fact, I'd almost rather not go home at all. I used to try to sneak in the house very quietly, and see how long it would take for my boys to realize that I was home (a lot of times I didn't even make it to the driveway, and I was already "busted"). I'd peak around the corner to whatever room they'd be in, and loved to see Scrutly's surprized look on his face -- "OOOOOOOHH!! MOM IS HOME!!!". :YAY And he'd wiggle all over the place. Then, I'd let them all out to go potty, they'd come back in and we'd cuddle on the couch or bed for a while, as we told each other about how our days were. I found myself almost doing that last night, and just burst into big tears, because my Scrutly wasn't there for me to surprize, then cuddle with. Ooooh...it just hurts so much! :cry I SO want to hold him one more time!!!!

My stockmarket tip: Buy stock in the Kleenex company. I can single-handedly keep the entire company in business!!!

I'm just plain sad to hear this news and very sympathetic to your loss of Scrutly. :cry

Every time we lose another of our beloved babies, unhappy memories flood my being. I pray that all the happy memories of wonderful times spent with him will heal your heart. :hp

THANK YOU, everyone! I was looking at photos and video clips of Scrutly on my computer last night, and the tears flowed like the day I lost him. I miss him soooo much. But, I have to say I was very fortunate. About a week after losing Scrutly, one of our adopters also lost one of his adopted cockers. She had gone in for knee surgery, was to spend the night, and at 3:30am, the vet called to tell him that Kucha had a stroke and died!! At least I got to bring Scrutly home, and spend a day and night with him -- I got to tell him "good-bye", and spend time with him. Kucha was stolen from Mike unexpectedly, and he never got that. He is devastated, to say the least. They are both missed dearly.
