I don't know what I would do without my little guy Charlie. I'm sure he understands everything that's going on in this house.

I had surgery yesterday morning to repair a small hernia and I am home for the next two weeks. He's been following me around very slowly. When I lay in bed, he's right next to me. If I move, he wakes up and checks to make sure I'm not going anywhere. He's usually running everywhere in the yard but today, he's just walking right next to me (I have to get up and walk every so often). I'm telling you: he knows! :hp

My daughter just had that same surgery last week. All the dogs laid right with her and guarded her as she slept. Our dogs are certainly loyal beings, aren't they?

I wish I could take him for a brisk walk or a short run, but I can't. Everything I do is slow motion :gig

He doesn't seem to mind. I will ask my friend to visit with her cocker Bailey tonight. Her and Charlie love to play chase in the yard.

The weather has been fantastic here for the past 3 weeks and I am a person who spends a lot of time outside. I feel so guilty for being indoors and sleeping this much when it's sunny outside. But I have to take it easy, I don't want the hernia to come back and have the surgery again.

vicky don't feel guilty! if you overdo it your body will take longer to heal.

You need to do what you have to do so you can recover.

If you want an easy way to amuse yourself and give Charlie some exercise at the same time ... blow bubbles for him!

Just watch out if you drip any of the solution on the floor so you don't slip.

That's actually a pretty good idea, Lisa. I will ask Matt to stop and get a bottle tonight.

I just went for a very slow walk with him around our street. He did very well not pulling but I could tell he wasn't impressed by my speed :roll

I am positive they know. About a week ago we had a freak thunderstorm, high winds, lightening striking all around, power out, a house over the ridge caught fire and I could see the flames....anyway to make a long story short I had a panic attack. Joslyn sat next me periodically licking my face and just looking at me like, "mom it will be ok." And it was ok. :hp

My surgery is healing very well. BUT... I broke one of my toes last Friday :ROFL

Good thing I have 2 vacation weeks starting this Monday. I need to stay out of trouble. Charlie is still staying right by my side.

OUCH! Sorry to hear about your toe! Glad you have such a nice companion to be with you while you heal.

How's Charlie's potty issues going? Have you tried the Perfect Form yet?

Yes Lisa, we've been adding 1/2 a teaspoon of HK Perfect Form to Charlie's meals and we have awesome fantastic superb results :YAY

(can you tell I'm happy???). Thanks to YOU! The instructions says to mix it with water and pour it over his kibble, is this what you're doing? Charlie likes it just sprinkled over his kibble. He always drinks quite a bit after he eats so I know he gets water...

So far so good!

That is wonderful! I always worry that something that I recommend doesn't work as well for another.. but happily this IS working for Charlie! I'm thrilled for you!

I use 1/2 teaspoon once a day for Chessie. I do add water (actually extra) because Chessie isn't a big drinker and this is a way to force her to get water. But she will eat it just sprinkled on top too.

The funny thing is I was at my pet food store the other day when they got their shipment. The girl was rummaging through the box so I asked her what she was looking for.... "our Perfect Form didn't come in again! We have customers waiting on it!" So it looks like we might have trouble getting it now too! :OMY

Thankfully when I got your can I grabbed an extra for Chessie. I just opened it last night. I hope that by the time I'm out of this one they have it in stock once more!
