I have some sad news to report. My beautiful girl Cocker Spaniel C.C. passed away Friday morning. I think it was just old age because when I went to wake her she was still lying in the same position she was in when she went to sleep. I didn't even realize she was gone. She was still warm. I'm really going to miss my big girl. I still have her son Oscar, but he seems grief stricken at the moment and I'm very worried about him. C.C. was one of the best dogs I've ever had the pleasure of having. She was sweet, silly and even tempered. She loved going for walks, anything water related and most of all she loved her family, her human and animal family. Those were eleven wonderful years that I wouldn't trade for anything. Her life started out badly, she was supposed to be a show dog but the people who had her abused her and passed her around from place to place. When I got her she was about five or six years old (possibly older) she was almost emaciated and was still nursing three puppies one of whom is Oscar. She opened her heart to us immediately and quickly adapted to life as a house dog something she had never known. She filled our home with laughter and love and even later in her life when she lost her sight and hearing she still remained the same sweet girls he had always been. She was able to adapt to her disabilities amazingly well and never let them slow her down. Oh, how I'll miss her.
