I'd appreciate prayers, good thoughts and all for my Annie again. Since the lowered dose of prednisone (we went down 5 mg. per day last Thursday) her numbers have dropped by about 4 points (to about 33). It isn't major but it IS worrisome. So she's going back up to the full dose of prednisone again and we'll see what to do from there. She's acting fine and she's still nice and pink which is good but I'm getting frantic once again.

Prayers headed your way! Daisy's platelets did the same thing for a while with her IMT, up, drop the dose, down, raise the dose, etc... It is super stressful, I know!

Don't get upset that happened to muffin too, that is why it took us 18 months to do the weaning, again she will also drop a little each time you reduce the amount, but will come back up in a couple of weeks. Muffin was I the low 30 for a while, then we hung at 37 for a while before we got to 40' I made sure she was checked weekly for a long time then we went every two weeks. Sending good thoughts and prayers to you I know what you are going through, pm me anytime if I can help

Vickie, you and Bob have a lot on your cocker plates lately. Continuing prayers for Annie. :hp :hp
Sylvia, thank you for you input and assurances. I'm sure that it helps (at least it would for me).

Someone compared IMHA to being on a roller coaster (I think it was Dawn) and that is the truth. The pink is a good sign, so that is a positive. Up the prednisone and keep close watch, like we all know you do, and Annie's numbers should increase. Patience is so hard with IMHA. You seem like they are "coming out of the woods" and then "Kaboom!!", they drop down a bit. We are praying and sending positive thoughts from our house to yours.

I think we both did. Give it at least a year, Vickie. I don't think any of us that has taken a ride on the IMHA roller coaster spent less than a year on meds. I only know of one dog on this Forum (Oakley) and we were all wondering about the diagnosis. It took Mia over 17 months to get to remission. Keep thinking pink!

OH! Vickie, you are taking the words right out of my mouth (or fingers in this case). :wk You can listen to us, but you can also depend on yourself and your own knowledgeable Vet's.

I take it by our comments that you must have returned Annie for another PCV test before the first week passed. Was there something that prompted you to return sooner? Anyway, you did and caught this very early. I do agree with Sylvia that this is not a bad result, stuff just happens with this disease and there is no way to know what will happen and when. Yes, a roller coaster ride, for sure. :evil

Stay positive, calm and give your heart a rest. :luv Steady, straight course with many, many PCV tests along the way. :smch

Vickie, you and Bob are in my prayers as well as Annie and Mowgli. I think when it rains it pours. Anyway good thoughts of health, calm, peace and assertiveness. You guys are great doggy parents and I am sure Annie and Mowgli knows it. Hope Annie levels go back up or at least stay the same in a good level.

Thanks Dawn! Actually her urine looked just a little deeper yellow this morning and again at lunch so we took her in. Her color is good, her appitite fine, she's still playing and walking around - it really was the urine and I just had a feeling (and I'm learning to go with my gut). She's at 33 which really isn't too bad since her "good" is about 40. Even the vet said "how the heck do you pick up on this stuff? "

Sending best thoughts and prayers that Annie's numbers will improve significantly. :hp

Your vet wanted to know: "How the heck do you pick up on this stuff". I know it's because a dog lover has a special connection to know when something is "off" with their beloved pet. :nw

You and Bob are such caring and alert pup parents. I would doubt many would pick up on such a subtle change as urine color. Hopefully this is just a small bump in the road for Annie (and from the comments it does not sound unusual). How is Mowlgi doing? Did you take him in? I admire you both for your caring and dedication.

Thank you Bonnie. Mowgli is doing quite well. He actually has a "lope" in his step if he's trying to follow someone and they're going too fast. Since his hips are off a bit it's a funny little ca-LUMP kind of thing. He also loves any toy as long as it's a tennis ball.

Hi Vickie and Bob,

I call you and Bob, watch hawks! Not, watch dogs! :smch I don't think that you will ever miss even the slightest change in your babies. :luv I just knew that something changed for you to take Annie in before the week was over. I am sure that you are glad that you did and I am too! :hp

Still sending my best wishes and my prayers for Annie, you and Bob. :love I will keep watching for your updates and, like I said before, Annie will be just fine in your loving hands. :love
